ABOUT
Jewish names around the world and throughout history
This website is a hub of information about Jewish names, culled from academic research and presented in an accessible way for the general public. We have started small - with a searchable database of Jewish baby names, video lectures about Jewish surnames and personal names around the world, a report about American Jewish personal names, some curricular materials, and a bibliography. Please let us know if you have suggestions for additional resources to add.
This website is an initiative of the Hebrew Union College Jewish Language Project.
